What Citation Style Should I Use?

Your professor will tell you which style to use.
ASA Style (American Sociological Association) is commonly used in Sociology.
ASA Style is based on the Chicago Author-Date system.
In ASA Style, in-text citations are written as (Author Year). If you are citing a specific page number, the format is (Author Year:Page) Example: (Martinez 2013:45)
