Collection Description

Rakuten OverDrive is Middlebury Library's partner providing popular e-books (including Kindle-compatible e-books) and audiobooks to check out.  We currently have about 400 titles available, findable in MIDCAT by searching for "OverDrive, Inc." as author.

Devices

OverDrive works with a wide variety of devices!

In order to read OverDrive e-books on your device, you need to install either the original OverDrive app or the newer Libby app.  Please see this page for complete instructions.  Basically, the process is as follows:

  1. Download the OverDrive app to your listening device and create an original account.
  2. Sign in and add the "Davis Family Library.” When prompted to sign in with a library card, use your Middlebury College credentials instead
  3. Browse the available selections and borrow an audiobook or e-book
  4. For an audiobook, download the MP3 files using the app.  Access and manage your loans from your electronic bookshelf.
  5. Some e-book titles are also available for use with Kindle apps and readers.
