You will need to install the Libby app to access the collection.  Please see this page to get started with Libby or watch the video tutorial here.  Basically, the process is as follows:

  1. Download the Libby app to your device and create an original account.
  2. Tap the large red "Libby" on the app to open a sidebar, then tap "Add A Library" and search for "Middlebury College” as a library.  You will be taken to our sign-in page to enter your Middlebury College username and password.
  3. Browse the available selections and borrow an audiobook or e-book
  4. For an audiobook, download the MP3 files using the app.  Access and manage your loans from your electronic bookshelf.
  5. Many e-book titles are also available for use with Kindle apps and readers.

Get the app here:

1) To borrow an audiobook or e-book, find a title you want to borrow and click on the large green "Borrow" button.

2) If you are off-campus, or using an app, you may be prompted to sign in with your Middlebury username and password.

3) Once you have signed in, you will be prompted again to choose the length of your desired loan period (either 7 or 14 days), and once again click on the green "Borrow" button:

  • There is a limit of 3 checkouts and 5 holds for Libby/Overdrive materials

Borrowed Kindle Books are automatically returned to your library at the end of their lending periods.

Users can return Kindle Book loans early through their Kindle or Amazon’s website. Here are two help articles with instructions:
